PARIS – Pierre Cardin's spokesman says the French fashion designer has returned home after spending nearly two days in the hospital following a fall.
Jean-Pascal Hesse said in a statement Thursday that doctors found Cardin's health to be "completely satisfying" and gave the 86-year-old the green light to go back to work in a few days.
On Tuesday, the designer was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the Mediterranean port city of Marseille, where he underwent medical tests.
Cardin lives in the southern French village of Lacoste, where he has produced a theater festival for the past nine years. He is currently restoring the chateau of the infamous Marquis de Sade.
Cardin's futuristic women's wear catapulted to him international fame in the 1960s.
